Sunday is going to be very busy

by The Shopping Maniac

Sunday seems to be our big shopping day lately. I’m not sure how it’s turned out that way, but that seems to be the day when we go out grocery shopping for the week ahead, and run around to any other stores to get things we need.

Other than buying groceries, Sunday doesn’t make all that sense when I think about it, because the stores close so much earlier … we’re always scrambling to get to all the stores that we need to get to before they close. Silly isn’t it. I guess we should do some of our shopping on Saturdays or other weekdays.

On top of shopping I also have to read some jack3d reviews for my nephew either later tonight or tomorrow. He’s a fitness nut and he wants me to check this stuff out.

I think tomorrow is shaping up to be a very busy day.

Frustrated with my new computer

by The Shopping Maniac

I’ve been spending so much time over the last couple of weeks trying to get my new laptop computer going that I’m about ready to put the new laptop aside or even send it back. I’m so frustrated with it.

The keyboard alone is driving me nuts! The shift key on the left hand side makes the cursor jump up a paragraph every once in a while, you know, when you use the shift key to capitalize a letter and then all of a sudden your cursor is in the middle of the paragraph above … what???? I don’t know if it’s the keyboard acting up or if I’m unknowingly hitting a key and causing the cursor to jump upward every once in a while. It’s so odd.

I think I am just going to put the computer aside for the night. My friend wants me to read these oxyelite pro reviews for her, then I’m going to bed. I think I’ll sleep in tomorrow.

I’m really enjoying my iPod

by The Shopping Maniac

I’m really enjoying having an iPod. I’ve only had the iPod Touch for about a week and a half, but wow … what a blast!

I only wish I’d bought one sooner.

It’s not like I didn’t think about getting one years ago … I just didn’t see the need for one up until now. Now that we have a dog and I can see using it when we take her out for walks etc well … Actually since we got the iPod I’ve used it while I’ve been cooking, cleaning, working on the computer, when I’ve been out in the backyard with the dog and so on.

Now that I’m all hooked up with an iPod maybe I should think about getting a new cellphone too? Maybe a blackberry or an iPhone? I’ll have to look into both types and see if I like either of them I suppose.

Neighbors disturbing my sleep?

by The Shopping Maniac

I haven’t been sleeping very well for the last few weeks. I’m not really sure why, but I pretty much feel like I’ve barely slept at all.

Anyway … The other day, I think it was Wednesday, I was finally sleeping. Since I’m on medical leave I decided to stay in bed and turned off my alarm so I could catch up on my sleep. Well that didn’t work out. At about 8 am I was awakened by sounds next door that sounded like my neighbors were moving furniture around. As it turned out it wasn’t my immediate next door neighbors (the adjoined house) it was the neighbor on the other side of us, the ones doing all the renovations that were making noise.

I guess the guy hired a professional plumber and the plumber was at the house starting to work and he was drilling concrete in the basement. It made our whole house rattle and shake! So much for my sleep! I stayed in bed and kept trying to sleep, but it didn’t work out.

I was mad. I sooooooo needed to sleep.

Perhaps Karma came to visit that afternoon … why? Well .. later that day the plumbers truck wouldn’t start and it looked like he had to call a tow truck – I didn’t recognize the company but it even said they’d do rv repairs which is unusual around here. So … anyway … I have no idea if the plumber finished his work or not, as he appeared distracted once his truck broke down. Maybe he’ll be back sometime in the next week or so to disturb my sleep.

Thinking of changing car insurance companies

by The Shopping Maniac

Last August we bought a new, well a new used car, and as a result our monthly insurance payments changed with our insurance company. I guess that’s natural since the car changed …

However, given that our old car and our new used car were similar cars – four door sedans, small cars – nothing flashy – I figured that the insurance rates would be pretty much the same. Well, I figured wrong. The new cars insurance rate is quite a bit more than the old cars and I really don’t think it should be. In fact, our insurance company told us that our insurance would be going down in January when the contract renewed but that doesn’t really reflect in the paperwork they just sent us … so I’m seriously thinking of contacting this place for a cheap car insurance quote and looking into changing car insurance companies.

Does anyone know of any good, respectable yet inexpensive car insurance companies in the Toronto area?
