Time to haul out the the Wii and do a little Cardio Boxing

I was upstairs in one of our spare bedrooms earlier today and I came across my balance board for my Wii. A flush of guilt came over me when I discovered the board because I haven’t used it in oh … two years!

I’ve used the Wii game more recently than the Wii board, but not all that often. I love doing things like cardio boxing. Now that the weather is beginning to get cooler and I’ll be cooped up in the house more I probably should start using the Wii more often again. I wish I could find something my husband would like on the Wii … hmmm maybe the wii guitar since he is after all a musician. LOL

Do you Wii? If you do, do you use it as a game or as a form of fitness? As you can see I use it more for fitness than game although I find it fun either way.

Hunting for a good life insurance policy

So my husband and I have been talking this evening about how we do not have life insurance. It’s not like we do anything dangerous like stunt driving or jumping from airplanes or anything, but maybe it would be a good idea to have life insurance.

So … I’m starting to look into some policies and from what I can tell it looks like I’m most interested in trying to find the best term life insurance premiums. Hopefully I can find some policies with decent prices. My husband and I don’t have a lot of spare cash these days so we don’t even know if we can afford something like life insurance … so we’ll have to see what happens.

The noisy neighbors are back Argh

My immediate next door neighbors were very quiet for the last two weeks and it was pure heaven.

My neighbors have been extremely noisy this year. Their toddler has been going through the terrible two’s and we’re also bearing the brunt of the noise. She’s running around slamming doors, screaming and banging her feet and all that noise really comes into our house at all hours of the day and night and it seems that her parents don’t want to do anything at all to stop her. It’s been going on for 6 months.

So .. when the noise suddenly stopped two weeks ago it didn’t take me too long to figure out that the mother and daughter had gone away on vacation for a while. The father stuck around but he seems to be the quieter of the three of them.

Unfortunately my peace and quiet is over. It’s after 10pm and I can hear the little girl running circles in their living room next door. She’s thumping around so much that the couch I’m sitting on as I type is shaking. Yes she’s a heavy footed little girl! God I hope that I never get any baby shower invitations from them for any new siblings! I can’t imagine how noisy their house would be with more kids! One kid and their already driving me nuts.






A new baby for a friend

Aw … I was just reading a friends blog and I learned that she gave birth to a baby girl earlier today. Her husband had updated her site for her.

He even posted a cute little picture of the two of them! I’m sure there will be many more pictures to come, but the first one is always so special isn’t it?

Now I’m going to see if I can try to find a place to get flowers in Long Beach CA. I’ll try to send some to her tomorrow if I can as a way to congratulate her.

I’m so happy for my friend!

Working very hard in the garden

I’m so tired. I’ve been working something like 6 days straight in my backyard between preparing for the new fence to go in on one side of the yard and now working on the after effects of the fence in. In other words … getting torn up by roses for 6 days straight.

At least I’ve been getting a lot of exercise! There’s no way I’ll need to look for anything like the best muscle building supplement because working in the garden, lifting trellises and pushing gigantic rose branches out of my way is definitely getting my muscles in shape.

I still have a few days worth of work to do. I had to replace earth from where I had to dig a trench in my garden bed for part of the fence, and now I’m in the process of putting in some new trellises, adding in some manure to the current garden bed earth and then I’ve got to secure the roses to the trellises and plant some annuals.

Yep still lots of work to do. No wonder I’m exhausted. The garden will be very nice by the time I’m done though!
