Would you buy any of these strange products?

by The Shopping Maniac

Do you ever think about all the strange things that are available to buy? I mean there’s a whole variety of practical items, but there’s just as many impractical items too!

For instance .. have you ever felt the need to make sandwhiches in the shape of mustaches?

No … I didn’t think you did. I haven’t felt the urge either, but I suppose someone out there has and thought it was a good idea to market the Crustache.

I guess people must be buying it!

Oh and then, for men that feel the need to show off a hair chest yet don’t seem to have one of their own to bare there’s the very realistic looking Chest tie.

Would you wear that?

Now this product, the Fly Shooter, looks like it might actually work. It even says that it’s fast and fun, easy and safe, no ugly mess, kills flies and other bugs accurately. If that’s true it might come in handy at the cottage!

So tell me the truth .. do you own or would you use any of these products? Come on .. fess up!

Hoping to hear good news

by The Shopping Maniac

I can’t wait to hear from my nephew to find out how he did this weekend. My nephew and my brother-in-law drove to Brockville, because my nephew was invited to join a Brockville OHL hockey team and if he does join the team and he has a good chance of getting in the NHL. Pretty cool!

My nephew seemed really calm and cool and collected before he left, but I’m sure he had some nerves, even if he wasn’t showing it. I know that he took his lucky susan b anthony dollar with him. I certainly hope that gave him some luck.

They’re apparently back in Toronto now, but they’re staying at friends tonight, I don’t know if they are going to call tonight or if I’ll have to wait until tomorrow morning when they come here for a visit to hear the news. Hopefully it’s good news!

Trying to have a relaxing weekend

by The Shopping Maniac

I was planning on just relaxing this weekend because this past week was extremely busy. We’ve been renovating our living room dining room all this past week, plus I had a few big appointments that made the week stressful. So … I’m due for a relaxing weekend.

So far my weekend hasn’t been all that tranquil. I tried going shopping earlier today and one of the stores that I needed to go to was also having renovations done. They were getting new shelving put in so they were closed … pharmacy shelving from mfried.com it looked like. I guess I’ll have to go and pick up my prescriptions next week instead. I wish I’d known they were closed before I drove all the way out there.

Sunday is definitely going to be a relaxing day. How is your weekend going?

Backing up my Flickr account

by The Shopping Maniac

I’m in the process of backing up my Flickr account. I’ve heard of some people having their whole accounts wiped out or rather their photos being deleted, so I decided that since I have close to 14,000 photos in my account it would be a great idea to back up my account. Call it my method of cyber security so to speak.

One of the reasons that I’m backing up my account, other than it’s a good idea to do it since I have so many photos stored on Flickr is also because I noticed that they have my account set to not be in the public search. That means they flagged my account at some point. Oh oh! Now I don’t think I’ve ever done anything to break Flickr’s rules but who knows! So .. I’m backing up my account just in case my act of contacting them to ask them to review my account so that it can be put back in public search doesn’t end up getting my account closed.

Have you ever had any problems on Flickr? Do you store lots of photos there? Do you back up your photos too?

Time for the annual Christmas show at work

by The Shopping Maniac

My husband is going to be playing guitar at our hospitals’ annual Christmas event this coming Thursday. He’s been been busy picking out songs and practicing them on his guitar over the last month and a half or so. He’s also been taking his guitar to work to practice with one of the doctors he works with as well as a few other people that he works with in the hospital that will be joining them in performing.

I might stroll over to the hospital on Thursday to watch the show. I’ve certainly put in my time listening to all the practice guitar chords – I think I deserve to hear the finished product … plus I’ll get to hear the rest of the “group” too.

Does your workplace have an annual holiday event? Do employees put on any kind of talent show or anything like that? That’s one of the things that I like about the hospital – there’s this Christmas performance every year, but there’s also a talent show usually in June or July I believe and that’s always fun.
